McDonogh’s 150th Anniversary Weekend kicked off on Thursday, November 2 with 回家, a production celebrating the School’s vibrant 和 diverse arts community. Fittingly, the opening number in the Ceres M. Horn 剧院 was “Old Friends” from the musical Merrily We Roll Along, performed by an ensemble of 校友 和 当前的 students. The theme of “home” was woven through the songs 和 dance performances along with highlights from past musicals. Distinguished Service 和 Young 校友 Awards
在周五, 11月3日, more than 100 members of the McDonogh Family gathered under the 社区 Tent next to John McDonogh Stadium for the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) 和 Young 校友 Award (YAA) luncheon—two of McDonogh’s most prestigious honors. The event recognized alumnus John Beever ‘50 和 former Headmaster Charlie Britton, as well as Kimmy Hilson Carmichael ‘10 和 Mike Smith ‘15. Spirit Parade 和 Pep Rally
The Friday fun continued with the all-school Spirit Parade 和 Pep Rally led by honorary Gr和 Marshall Dave Harley who retired in 2014 after 47 years at McDonogh. The entire school community, dressed in festive orange 和 black, marched behind the 上学校 fall sports teams to the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Athletic Center, where the excitement for 周六’s McDonogh vs. Gilman football game reached a fevered pitch. 150th Anniversary Gala
